Trickerion: Legends of Illusion. If you want to know more about the rules of the game, watch my How to Play Trickerion: Legends of Illusion video.
Hi! It’s Ryan from Nights Around a Table, and this is Trickerion: Legends of Illusion, a worker placement game for 2-4 players. Here’s the deal.
In Trickerion, you and your friends play rival magicians in a sort of dark, vaguely steampunky vision of the Victorian era that may remind you of the 2006 Christopher Nolan movie The Prestige, except that it sort of makes sense. The famous magician Dahlgaard is retiring, and you have five weeks to prove to him that you’re the magician worthy of inheriting all of his stuff, including the Trickerion stone, a big yellow gem rumored to give Dahlgaard supernatural powers.
Your goal is to learn tricks, buy the stuff you need to perform them, practice the tricks, stage them in the theatre, and then perform them for Fame points. Whichever magician scores the most Fame points by the end of the fifth week wins the game.
Well, does it sound interesting? If you want to learn more about the rules of the game, click the link at the end of this video or in the description below to watch my complete How to Play video, which includes the overview segment you just watched.
